The overhaul of Dworzec Centralny in Warsaw that commenced in 2010 was planned due to the Euro 2012 championship ahead and covered all areas of the station accessible to the public: station hall, commercial passageways and platforms. The station information which apart from the backlit coffers included various electronic equipment was integrated with the station architecture. The project included adapting the Visual information system of PKP to the needs of Dworzec Centralny in Warsaw, |
the design of backlit information carriers (coffers) and designs of enclosures for information equipment (information points, ticket machines). We assumed a division of information into city and station information which is reflected by the colour division of information fields: navy blue background for railway information, white background for city information. The design of the station map, in its original version including tactile information for the blind and visually impaired, became a separate project.
